Happy Valentine’s Day!

John and I spent our day relaxing together.  He woke me up with flowers and breakfast – so sweet!  Then for dinner, we stayed in, grilled steaks, made potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and onions, opened a bottled of Vino (wine, for the non-Italians reading this), and enjoyed an delicious dinner on our balcony!

As for gifts, John and I played it safe this year, only exchanging cards.  We are in operation “save money” mode. Plus, John’s BIRTHDAY is this Wed., Feb. 18th!  So you can image my stress this time of year. :)

As for John’s birthday, his lovely family is visiting for a whole week!  John and I can’t wait!  John turns the big 2-5 (midlife crisis, i know).  So we will do something special, I’m sure.

How was your Valentine’s day?

Oh, I forgot to mention that a couple secret admires of mine gave me my first pair of UGGs for Valentine’s Day (Yes, I am late to the trend.)  I love them very much, and am very grateful!

XOXO

PS. Pictures to come.  Stay tuned!!

SAVE THE DRAMA FOR OBAMA February 8, 2009

I’m trying to get more involved with politics.  I’m doing so by trying to stay up-to-date on the latest news from Washington.

Smart, I know.  But I wonder how long this will last. :)

Anyhow, Obama addresses the United States this week about the Economic Recovery Plan.

**Can you believe there has been a total loss of 3.6 million jobs since the recession began?  Wow!

Check out the video above.  What do you think?

XOXO

John was cast on the show, Lie to Me.  Above is a picture of his character during filming.  He played a POW.  He looks all cut up and dangerous.  Hot, I know. :)   Below is the description from the official FOX site:

LIE TO ME, the compelling new drama from the producers of 24, stars Tim Roth (“The Incredible Hulk,” “Reservoir Dogs”) as DR. CAL LIGHTMAN, the world’s leading deception expert who studies facial expressions and involuntary body language to discover not only if someone is lying, but why. When someone shrugs one shoulder, rotates a hand or raises the lower lip, Lightman knows he’s lying.

Based on the real-life scientific discoveries of Paul Ekman, the series follows Lightman and his team of deception experts as they assist law enforcement and government agencies to expose the truth behind the lies.

The episode will air sometime in MARCH – we will keep you updated!

PS. What do you all think of Christian Bale’s fall out?

The life of a cat is surreal.  Seriously, I am jealous.  I hope the pictures speak for themselves.

SUPER BOWL SUCCESS February 4, 2009

Super Bowl 2

I hope everyone had a great and memorable Super Bowl!

John and I had friends over to celebrate “America’s Finest Tradition”.

John LOVES football.  Me, not so much.  BUT, anything to do with a theme and treats, count me in!

The Steelers beat the Cardnials 27-23.

As you can tell by the 2nd picture above, John and I were 3D ready for the Monsters Vs. Aliens commercial. It was a hit!

How was your Super Bowl?   Mom – maybe if you had a blog (just like me, ahemm!!) I would know all about it.  Ok, I get your point that we talk every day, but still.  I am the daughter and I win!

XOXO
